The PTO Christmas Bazaar was held on Saturday November 30th, 2002. A big thanks to those who supported us. We did very well, with close to 110 tables sold to a variety of vendors. There was a great assortment of items for your Christmas shopping. Thanks also to the vendors for their participation.
We would like to thank Nicha and Beverly for the various activities with which they assisted us; generously giving their time and support. The PTO board also gives thanks to Mr. Ryan, Mr. Ralph & his brother, Mr. James, Shorty and the entire support staff for all their hard work and the long hours they put in assisting with the Bazaar. The Westmoorings residents also need a note of thanks for their wonderful support, as we were pleased to see the community embracing an activity at the school. Thanks again to the parents who worked at the gate: Lynette Guinn and her team of Sue Ann Temple, Carol Jaroop, Sally Harrison, Eva Gainska, Kathy Mackow, and Anna Denis. Also thanks to the PTO board members who gave up their Saturday to ensure that the Bazaar ran smoothly.
A final and special thanks to Janelle Chow for her great leadership, hard work, and the considerable time and effort spent on organizing the event.
You may notice that security at the school is in the process of being upgraded in the form of ID badges, electronic door licks, cameras and additional lighting. The PTO Board, in discussions with the Mr. Latham, decided that part proceeds of the funds raised from the Bazaar and the Carnival Fete will be used to assist with these security upgrades.
We have been receiving Christmas donations in the front office. Thank you. Just a reminder that a request was made for decorations for the wards at the General Hospital and the Mount Hope children's ward. Boxes have been placed in the main office to collect anything you wish to donate. Christmas presents for the children at the Mount Hope hospital will also be collected in the front office. Any small gift would help make it a memorable Christmas for these children. The decorations need to be donated as soon as possible to get the wards into the Christmas spirit. Time is running out.
The Carnival Fete is being organized for February 1st, 2003 at MOBS II. Tickets for the Carnival Fete are available at TT$250 each. Carnival T-shirts are also available for adults and kids. Please contact Suzanne Jurawan (632-3608) or Marleen James (632-7554) for tickets and information.
The Book Fair will now kick-off on Saturday April 5th, 2003 and then will finish up on Monday and Tuesday.
